The PhD is a natural continuation of the APE Masters Degree. The APE Programme places a strong emphasis on the support and supervision of students for the duration of their studies. Research-orientation and openness to the social sciences are at the heart of the masters program. Scientific excellence is the goal of the doctorate.

The doctoral programme lasts in average 3 years during which students write their thesis within one of PSE laboratories. This programme is organized within the École Doctorale d’Économie (ED465) that gathers research teams in Economics and related fields (applied math, statistics, sociology) of the University Paris 1, EHESS, ENS and ENPC.
